She walked into his house, stunned.
A girl, more like a young woman, stood there.
A brief hug was exchanged as she put the bag of goodies on the counter.
Shocked, she walked further into the house.
She was pleasant, but the entire time she felt his eyes on her.
She stood there, awkwardly, and played with his animals.
They stood in the kitchen, and chatted randomly with long pauses in between subjects.
She barely looked at him.
She couldn't bring herself to do so.
But when she did, he looked at her with a look she could not express in words.
He always looked at her differently.
She always knew this.
After the amount of time they could bare, they decided to leave.
As they said their goodbyes, they gave hugs.
He was leaned up against the counter, and pulled her in.
She leaned on top of him, they hugged.
He held her tight for quite a while.
It was the best hug she'd received in a long, long time.
As they hugged, the young woman gave an awkward cough.
They broke apart at that moment, and she awkwardly hugged the young woman.
They left, stunned, and confused.
It is not confusing.
There is no doubt.
It is beautiful, really.
But it is buried deep.
And it would be very deep.
Deeper then anything either of them have ever experienced.
Unspoken, but not unrecognized.
The love that lasts the longest is the love that can never be.
I took my love down to Violet Hill
There we sat in snow
All that time she was silent still
So if you love me
Won't you let me know?
